A who’s who of showbusiness, business and politics attended Australia’s most exclusive charity event, the Gold Dinner 2021, at Sydney Airport on Thursday evening.
The most prominent arrivals skipped the red carpet, which was held at the departures terminal, with Chris and Liam Hemsworth taken privately to the site in the middle of the airfield.
Thor’s star Chris, 37, was joined by his wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, while his younger brother was joined by his girlfriend, model Gabrielle Brooks.

Other guests included Lucciana Barroso – the wife of actor Matt Damon, who was not present despite being currently in Australia – and Nine presenter Lauren Phillips.
They rubbed shoulders with actress Rose Byrne as well as hosts of local stars including radio personalities Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli and Hamish Blake, who was joined by his businesswoman, Zoë.
Rugby league power couple Terry Biviano and Anthony Minichiello, former Foreign Secretary Julie Bishop, decorated Olympian Ian Thorpe and entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins completed the guest list.

The Golden Dinner was an extravagant affair, with guests discovering a decadent Italian menu offered by Crown Sydney’s a’Mare restaurant and visionary chef Alessandro Pavoni.

The menu included local burrata, veal tenderloin with caper and pine nut tuna mayonnaise, tuna crudo, king mackerel and salmon with citrus vinaigrette, parmigiana risotto – with 24 month Parmigiano Reggiano, wagyu beef check and braised chiati – with dessert of a classic tiramisu.
All dishes were accompanied by Bollinger Champagne, Four Pillars gin and wines from Australia’s finest vineyards.
All leftover food was donated to OzHarvest trucks waiting outside the event to be shared with those in need.

From start to finish, the hall was set alight with an array of electrifying musical performances, from the opening act of Ilan Kidron and Reigan welcoming guests in front of a vintage airplane to an old-fashioned crooner vibe.
This was followed by the independent success story Ben Lee, who is back on his home soil after spending many years in Los Angeles.
An inspiring performance by 18-year-old indigenous artist Budjerah Slabb, who is set to become the next rising star in Australia’s music industry, was followed by the Masked Wolf who performed his worldwide hit Astronaut in the Ocean.
The legendary dance music group Sneaky Sound System accompanied the guests until the end of the evening.
