Google Pixel Fold, the tech giant’s first foldable smartphone, could launch in late 2021. Samsung has tapped the foldable display market with its foldable devices, most notably the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. This isn’t the first time that the Google Pixel Fold launch schedule has been mentioned. David Naranjo, Senior Director, Display Supply Chain Consultants, also tweeted about the development of Google Pixel Fold. Its tweet indicated that the handset could launch in the fourth quarter of 2021 (October 1 to December 31). He also suggested that the Google Pixel Fold will use an LTPO OLED display. The analyst also adds that Google Pixel 6 Pro will launch in the same quarter.

In 2019, Google revealed that it had started working on prototypes of foldable smartphones. The company has also supported foldable displays in Android 10, which have been exploited by companies such as Samsung to develop their in-house foldable phones. Google certainly has the option to challenge the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, as well as the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 with the upcoming Google Pixel Fold. Huawei with its foldable smartphones Mate X and X2 marked its presence in space. Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi also unveiled the Mi Mix Fold as the company’s first foldable smartphone in China in March this year.
