Dietmar Hamann believes that the recent comments of former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg are “quite disturbing”.
Clattenburg, who left the Premier League referee rotation in February 2017, was responding to recent comments from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp highlighted earlier this month that Manchester United has had “more penalties in two years than me in five and a half years”.
Write in a column for the Daily mail, the former official claimed that Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are just as bad at trying to win penalties.
Hamann chose another comment from Clattenburg, however, that sounded the alarm for the former Reds midfielder.
Clattenburg appeared to admit that referees used to favor United when Ferguson was in charge of the club, saying: “He [Klopp] It is wrong to suggest that there is an aura around United that allows them to make favorable decisions.
“Previously, Fergie was there, but it has eased considerably since leaving.
A comment that exasperated Hamann.
Quite disturbing to hear this from someone who refereed during Ferguson’s reign admitting there was bias towards Man United https://t.co/wmZWCxk7RT

“Disturbing enough to hear this from someone who officiated during Ferguson’s reign admitting there was a bias towards Man United,” he tweeted.
The two teams meet at Anfield on Sunday, with United holding a three-point lead over Liverpool at the top.
The Red Devils have won six league kicks this season, compared to five won by Liverpool.
However, they have received 42 in all competitions since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took office in December 2018. That compares to Liverpool’s 19.
Liverpool to De Paul talks
Meanwhile, Liverpool are in negotiations with Rodrigo De Paul as they seek a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, according to a report.
Wijnaldum’s future at Anfield has been uncertain since the summer. Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has admitted his interest in the player.
Wijnaldum is out of contract this summer and talks about a new deal at Anfield have not gone smoothly. In reality Todofijaches, via the Daily Mirror, claimed that Wijnaldum rejected their latest proposal.
They claimed the Champions’ latest offer was’ below target ‘and left him disappointed.
It looks like Jurgen Klopp took this on board and worked on a replacement.
According to Todo Fichajes, Leeds target From Paul is on Liverpool’s radar and discussions with the player’s “environment” are ongoing.
