Australian spinner Adam Zampa was roped by the Royal Challengers Bangalore at auction last year. The right-arm bowler traveled to the UAE with RCB but didn’t have too many chances to play. Zampa has only played three games in the season in which he chose 2 wickets. But the Aussie leggie has had a chance to take a closer look at Virat Kohli, and Zampa thinks Kohli is quite different from what everyone expects from him.
Speaking in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, the 28-year-old revealed how Kohli whatsapp him on the first day he arrived in the UAE – and made him feel like they had known each other their entire lives. .

“It was the first day of my arrival [and], he [Kohli] WhatsApped me, I didn’t have her number. He gave the impression that we had known each other forever, ”said Adam Zampa.
Kohli’s Whatsapp message read, “Zamps, here’s the $ 15 vegan voucher in Deliveroo, this is a great restaurant.”
Zampa said Kohli was not at all what he saw on the cricket pitch after the match was over.
“He’s absolutely not what you see on the cricket pitch. He always brings his intensity to training and play; he loves competition and hates losing as much as anyone, ”Zampa said.
“He probably shows it more than anyone. Once out of the park he’s the scariest guy. He’s watching YouTube clips on the bus and he’s going to laugh out loud, ”he added.

Zampa further recalled how Kohli continued to laugh at a video of a funny race shared by Cricket Australia on his Twitter account.
“There was a cricket clip recently from cricket.com.au it was a fun race. He laughed about it for three weeks straight. He loves to hang on to jokes like that. He talks about coffee, travel, food. He’s a really cultured guy. It’s good to talk, great fun, ”Adam Zampa said.
Meanwhile, Zampa and Kohli will face off as India plays 3 ODI, 3 T20I and 4 tests against Australia. The first Test will take place on Friday next week in Sydney.
