Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom urged Nigerians to hold his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed, accountable if anything happens to him.
Ortom said Mohammed’s defense of Fulani shepherds wearing AK-47s indicated he was part of an attempt to assassinate him.
He recalled that shepherds wrote to him to try to assassinate him.
The governor said so when speaking to reporters in Makurdi, Benue state yesterday.
Ortom said: “I want to think that with what he said and what these shepherds wrote to me and said they were going to murder me, Bala Mohammed is also one of them, with what he has. said.
“And if something happens to me, I don’t want anyone to be in doubt, Bala Mohammed should be held responsible. Especially his outing last week after the condemnable remarks he made about the Fulani wearing AK-47 and living anywhere in Nigeria.
Mohammed had accused Ortom a week ago of having perpetrated hatred against the Fulani in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Ortom had accused Mohammed of teaming up with killer shepherds to wipe out people living in part of the country, including his state.
