Siddharth Sharma, the right-arm medium pacer of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Team, bid farewell to the world on January 12. The cricketer was on a fan for the past 2 weeks as he was with his team for the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy. The pacesetter had recently taken a five-wicket haul against the Bengal.

The bowler was part of the Vijay Hazare Trophy win where he provided crucial breakthroughs for his team. He made his first-class debut in 2017 and had taken 25 wickets in 6 matches and was regarded as an exciting prospect for Indian cricket.

Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh expressed his grief on his social media account. “Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Siddharth Sharma, a member of Himachal’s Vijay Hazare Trophy-winning cricket team and the best fast bowler in the state. The Prime Minister has expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families.” said Sukhvinder Singh.

Huge loss to Himachal Pradesh Cricket

The cricketer was cremated at Bhabhor Saheb crematorium on January 13 (Friday). He was in Gujarat with his teammates for the match but did not participate due to serious illness. He was the go to bowler for the captain as his contribution to the Himachal Pradesh Cricket was invaluable.
