Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday criticized the Center over newly enforced land laws in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Our people from Jammu and Srinagar were trying to protest against the land laws. But they were detained. I tried to get out, I was also arrested. No one is allowed to speak here. These people want to use our resources. These people are communal, ”Mufti said.
“They are not able to give jobs to the poor and instead give false assurances to locals that they can buy land here. We cannot sit in silence on everything,” he said. -she adds.
In addition, Mufti challenged the Center to withdraw “the land of China which it has taken over in Ladakh”.
“We thought that Modi ji had been given such an important mandate that he will do great things but it seems that they did not go outside the electoral modes … They took land from the farmers, that’s how they want to take our land in J&K and give it to businesses, ”she added.
The Home Office issued a notification on Tuesday (October 27th) allowing Indian citizens to buy land in Jammu and Kashmir
Significantly, after the Home Office’s notification, anyone can buy and sell land for a factory, house, or store in Jammu and Kashmir. For this, he does not need to issue a certificate of permanent residence as before.
However, the notification states that the land will not be used for agriculture.
