At the post-match presentation ceremony, Indian captain Rohit Sharma expressed disappointment at the performance of the team’s bowling unit, saying that defending a goal over 200 is always a good total to defend, but the bowlers failed to perform good . Rohit Sharma was pleased with the batter’s performance, but he admitted that the players were not good on the field. He explained:

“I don’t think we bowled well. 200 is a good score to defend and we didn’t take our chances on the field. It was a great effort from our batters, but bowlers weren’t there at all. There are things where we but it was a great game for us to understand what went wrong.”

The India National Cricket Team captain also praised the Australian batters for playing extraordinary shots. Rohit Sharma said:

“We know this is a high-scoring ground. You can’t relax even if you get 200. We took wickets to an extent, but they played really well. They played some extraordinary shots. When I was in that dressing room , I would expect to chase that total. You can pull yourself back to make 60 runs in the last 4 overs.”

Rohit Sharma signed off by praising Hardik Pandya for his great knock and added that they will have to look at the bowling department before the next match. He said:

“We were unable to take their wicket. That was the turning point, if we had taken wickets it would have been different. You can’t score 200 every day, you have to hit well. Hardik hit really hard to get us there. We have to look at our bowling for the next game.”
