Former Australia National Cricket Team wicket-keeper batsman Ian Healy, who played 119 Tests and 168 ODIs between 1988-1999, has made a huge prediction that Team India would beat Team Australia 2-1 in the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be played at four different venues in India. The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur will host the first Test from February 9 to 13, and the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi will host the second Test from February 17 to 21.

The Third Test will be played at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala from March 1 to 5 and the Fourth Test will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad from March 9 to 13. The Aussies will aim to win their first test series in India since 2004.
Speaking to SENQ Breakfast, Ian Healy said he is not afraid of the Indian spinners until and unless the trustees produce “unreasonable wickets” that provide excessive support to spinners.

“They (India) have a good team, but I’m not too afraid of their spinners unless they produce unreasonable wickets,” Healy told SEN on Monday.
“If they produce unreasonable wickets like they did half the series last time (we don’t win), two wickets were just horrible, unfair, spinners that jumped over your head on the first day. So on that stuff they’ll play better than us, but if they get flat wickets that India used to put out, nice flat batting wickets and bowlers have to work really hard, I think we can do it. But (my prediction is) 2-1 India, if (Mitchell) Starc is not available in the first test,” Healy added.
My concern about Starc not playing the first test is…. — Ian Healey
Former Australia National Cricket Team wicket-keeper batsman Ian Healy further expressed concern over the absence of Mitchell Starc in the first Test against India. In particular, the main left-arm pacer is likely to miss the series opener due to a finger injury.
“My concern for him (Starc) not playing the first test is that you don’t have much time to land the bowling you’re going to need in the second, third and fourth tests,” Healy opined.
“Starc may not be available for the first test, and if you’re not available (for the) first test, you’re not going to be a great second test. It’s shortly after that, there are no other (warm-up) games,” he said.
However, Ian Healy was confident in Australia’s triumph in the upcoming Ashes series against England. He predicted that the Pat Cummins-led side will neutralize ‘Bazball’ and take a dominant 3-1 victory over hosts England, provided the Aussies put their full strength into it.
“Now Ashes, if we didn’t get injured in that bowling attack and we can play our top team then it’s 3-1 Australia. We’re really going to attack Bazball and put pressure on Bazball. We’ll see how much courage and bravery they can keep in that top order with England and their bowlers. I think for once we’ll do best against (James) Anderson and (Stuart) Broad, Anderson is 40 years old, we really need to put some pressure on him. Our best players for mine, Pat Cummins and Steve Smith will be our stars,” added Healy.
