India’s talisman pacer Japsrit Bumrah is finally back in the squad after an injury layoff. The 28-year-old was previously excluded from the 2022 Asian Cup due to a back injury. The Men in Blue felt his absence badly and it was reflected when they failed to make it to the final of the continental tournament, losing to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4s stage.
Speaking about Bumrah’s comeback, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said Bumrah is an attacking option and his absence has hurt the Indian team to a great extent.

Bumrah will participate in the T20I series of three games against Australia from September 20. The first ODI will take place on Tuesday at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.
During a press conference, Rohit said: “Bumrah is a very important player. The way he has performed in recent years has been fantastic. He is an attacking bowler and if such a bowler is not part of the team, the team is not going well.”
“Good to have Bumrah back and I hope he stays fit and bowls as soon as possible, which he normally does,” he added.
