IND vs NZ: Mitchell Santner leads as New Zealand announce 15-man squad for T20I Series against India

The New Zealand cricket team is all set to take on India for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is from January 18. Kane Williamson will lead the side in the ODIs, while surprisingly Mitchell Santner has been named T20I skipper and Williamson has decided not to join the tour to manage his workload.

This New Zealand Series is expected to be a fascinating one, as both teams are evenly matched. The Black Caps like to impress, because every time they are outplayed by the mighty Men in Blue. There are chances of India rotating some players as the 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka is scheduled for January 15.

New Zealand announces selection for India T20Is

This T20I series starts on January 27. The senior members such as Martin Guptill and Trent Boult are not part of the Series where both are released from contract and Tim Southee is rested. All eyes would be on Glenn Phillips as the hitter has sheer firepower.

Big chance for India

The Men in Blue had recently beaten New Zealand 1-0 in the T20I Series where they showed an attacking form of cricket. It would be interesting to see if Hardik Pandya remains captain after winning the T20I series against the Sri Lankan cricket team.

The decision to appoint Mitchell Santner as captain is quite astonishing as the spinner does not have much experience captaining the side. The Kiwis would like to take revenge as they were outplayed by India in the recently concluded T20I series.
