In a pre-series press conference, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson spoke about the upcoming limited overs series against India. that the Indian team is full of excellent players and that he will try to do well in this series. He said that his team is looking forward to this series.

“Their side has been busy. It makes sense that not everyone can do everything. Their depth is unparalleled. I’ve seen the talent of these players and there are plenty of superstars on that team. Williamson said.

Trent Boult has been a huge part of our team – Kane Williamson

Williamson talked about pacemaker Trent Boult, who is not part of both the ODI and T20I series, saying he has been a big part of the national side and hopes to play for the Kiwis again. Boult requested that New Zealand Cricket release him from his central contract in August so that he could spend more time with his family and also make him available for domestic competitions.

“Trent Boult has been a world class player for us. He’s been a big part of our team. Hopefully we’ll see him again in New Zealand colours. But it’s a moving landscape, you make different decisions throughout your career.” said Williamson in a media interaction ahead of the first game.

Team India will tour New Zealand between November 18 and 30 for a white-ball series consisting of three T20Is and three ODIs, and the Kiwis will return to India for the white-ball series in January next year.

Senior players including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been rested from the T20I and ODI squads. Shikhar Dhawan becomes the captain of the ODI team and Hardik Pandya becomes the captain of the T20I team, with Rishabh Pant deputizing.
