IND vs SL: “Focus on your upcoming matches”: Mohammed Shami backs Arshdeep Singh

Mohammed Shami, an Indian bowler, has defended Arshdeep Singh after the young fast bowler was hit back on social media for dropping a catch against Pakistan in Sunday’s Asia Cup Super 4s match at the Dubai International Stadium.

Asif Ali got a life when Arshdeep lost the catch in the 18th left of the innings. Pakistan went on to win by five wickets.

Arshdeep Singh, a left-arm pacemaker for India, got vile trolls for dropping a catch. Since Asif Ali was the one to outdo Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 19th and nearly lead Pakistan across the finish line, he had dropped Asif Ali’s catch in the 18th which turned out to be quite expensive. However, the fans did not remember that despite having 7 runs to defend, Arshdeep was close to winning the game in front of the billion spectators.

The 23-year-old pacer hasn’t played much international cricket, and such trolls can hurt a player, so management would be concerned. It is important to remember that the senior bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal, were all destroyed, each having to give up more than 40 runs during their spell.

Mohammed Shami shows support for Arshdeep Singh:

Arshdeep Singh has received support from Indian pacesetter Mohammad Shami, who has advised him to focus on the upcoming matches.

India would have won the match had the catch been made, but Pakistan won easily thanks to Asif’s 16-run performance on 8 balls to send his team home. Arshdeep bowled well in the 20th over despite missing the catch and needed just 7 runs to win the last six balls.
