Former Indian captain Virat Kohli scored the 45th ODI century of his career against Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the three match series at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahation Tuesday, January 10. Rajkumar Sharma, Virat Kohli’s youth coach, expressed his joy at the striker’s return, saying it came about after a difficult two-year spell.
Virat Kohli got two lifelines as he was dropped twice by Sri Lanka, on 52 and 81, and made the most of the opportunities, scoring 113 from 87 balls using 12 boundaries and a six. The 34-year-old struggled with the bat during his long lean spell and managed to turn things around successfully after a difficult two-year spell.
