Former India player Mohammed Kaif believes Virat Kohli can surely break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most ODI centuries. Mohammad Kaif also believes that Virat Kohli can even reach 60 centuries in ODIs.

Virat Kohli recently hit his 45th ODI ton in the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka. Sachin Tendulkar accounts for 49 centuries in ODI cricket. Therefore Virat Kohli needs another 5 centuries to break the master blaster record. Given Kohli’s current form, it is very likely that he will soon be able to break Tendulkar’s record.

Virat Kohli will definitely break Sachin Tendulkar’s record: Mohammad Kaif

During a conversation with Star Sports show ‘Match Point’ Mohammad Kaif was asked if Virat Kohli can break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most ODI hundreds. To this Kaif replied that the record will surely be broken.

“He can make 60 too. There are a lot of games to play in India if you count the World Cup too – the form he’s in at the moment, they’re playing on good pitches and he’s batting the innings. The record will definitely be broken, that is certain, but it remains to be seen how quickly he does that,” said Kaif.

Kaif also claimed that Virat Kohli can also reach 55 to 60 ODI centuries.

“I think he can probably get to 55 to 60 too given the form he’s playing with. He doesn’t get tired, he’s No. 1 in fitness and he’s been appropriately named ‘Run Machine’. He likes to get on the stay on the field and score points in the Indian jersey, we saw no lack of passion,” Kaif continued.
