The 37-year-old Indian National Cricket Team wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh karthik has said that playing in various circumstances ahead of the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup would be valuable for the Indian national cricket team.

India National Cricket Team is currently involved in a T20I series of five matches against the West Indies National Cricket Team. Three games have already been played in the West Indies with India leading 2-1 in the series. Now, the last two games of the series will be played in different circumstances in Florida.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik said the challenges will be different in different circumstances and the players will have to learn to adapt to the situations. During the press conference ahead of the 4th T20I, Karthik said:

“I think it’s very interesting because even in the World Cup right away the three reasons that come to mind are Sydney – [where] the sides are slightly smaller and the straights are longer – Adelaide we all know the sides are very small and again the straights are long while in Melbourne it is the exact opposite – the straights are short and the sides are very big.

“So obviously we’re going to face different terrains wherever we’re going to play, so the challenges will be different.

“Here, the challenges were different in every location we’ve played. So the fact that every time you get a chance, there’s a certain challenge that comes with just walking in.

“That is already stressful in itself. One of the most important things that Rohit [Sharma] and Rahul [Dravid] What was talked about in this series at the beginning was the adaptability and understanding of the situations. I think that’s something we’ve done pretty well so far.”

Experienced wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik further said that the India National Cricket Team has a rich talent pool and they can field 2-3 teams at the same time. He added that selecting just 15 players for the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be a tough job for the BCCI selectors.

“Look, right now in the Indian team we have the potential to put out two teams, or maybe even three teams, in terms of the number of players available,” he said.

“I don’t think many countries can boast of that, so to get just 15 players out of quite a few 40 players, there will be 20-25 players who will be like, ‘Geez! I could have made that team.”
