Indian Minister Hopes for Expo 2020 Dubai Success


Goyal said he is confident that India’s multidimensional participation will help increase bilateral trade and investment.

Indian Minister of Trade and Industry Piyush Goyal conveyed his country’s best wishes for the success of Expo 2020 Dubai to Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates .

Goyal said this during a joint media appearance with Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi to mark the launch of bilateral negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi and a high-level delegation from the United Arab Emirates are in New Delhi to hold talks aimed at improving bilateral economic relations, including expanding existing trade and investment relations.

Goyal said he is confident that India’s multidimensional participation in Expo 2020 Dubai will help increase two-way trade and investment in both directions. Goyal, along with BVR Subrahmanyam, Indian Secretary of Commerce, and a high-level delegation, will attend the opening ceremony of Expo 2020 Dubai.

On October 1, the day after the opening ceremony of Expo 2020 Dubai, Goyal will officially inaugurate the India Pavilion at the World Expo. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will play a three-minute video message during the opening ceremony, where the Commerce Secretary will deliver the welcoming speech.
