Shikhar Dhawan posted a photo in his Instagram Stories where he is seen relaxing on a bench and captioned it “Relaxing Before Practice (Practice)”. Dhawan is the second-highest scorer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 with 471 runs in 12 matches. He also became the only batsman to hit hundreds in back-to-back innings in the IPL this season and his Delhi Capitals team, despite recent stutters, rank third in the table with 14 points. They will then play the Mumbai Indians on Saturday.
Dhawan returned scores of 0, 6, 106 not out, 101 not out, 57 and 69 not out in his last six innings.
The two failures in the last two outings also coincided with his side’s results, as DC have lost three in a row and still need at least one win from their remaining four matches to secure a place in the final four.
In their last game, DC was hidden by the Hyderabad SunRisers who beat them by 88 runs courtesy of David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha’s half-centuries.
SRH posted a massive 219 for 2, then knocked out DC for 131 in 19 overs.
Rashid Khan came back 3 for 7 for SRH while T Natarajan got 2 for 26 as DC couldn’t get momentum in their pursuit.
DC will face Mumbai this week before facing the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday in their final league game.
These two teams are above Delhi in the table. Mumbai leads the standings with 16 points while RCB is second with 14 points.
