Before starting their Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign this year, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have decided to recognize the performances of their key players from last season. The franchise today posted two photos on its official Instagram handle featuring Faf du Plessis from South Africa and Sam Curran from England. The message called them “Super Lions”. The skipper of CSK MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina presented a trophy to Du Plessis. Versatile Ravindra Jadeja joined Dhoni to present the award to Curran. The caption of the message read: “A word of appreciation for our Super Lions from last season! Faf du Plessis (449 races) and Sam Curran (13 wickets). # WhistlePodu #Yellove”

Du Plessis was explosive last year. The South African opener was the tallest runner in the Yellow Army. True to his consistency throughout the season, Du Plessis slammed 42 limits and 14 maximums in the 13 games he played. The right-hander ended the campaign with four half centuries to his credit.

The three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings will face the Delhi Capitals in their first game on April 10.
