Ravindra Jadeja, a versatile Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player, celebrated in style after beating 31 unbeaten from 11 deliveries to help her team pursue a 173-point goal against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Jadeja has beaten six in the last two deliveries to help CSK register a victory that seemed unlikely at one point. The 31-year-old first showed a thumbs-up sign in the direction of a dugout that appeared giddy with joy before starting to underline his name on the shirt.

CSK may not be in contention for a playoff spot, but the triumph won’t be easily forgotten, given their lack of success in IPL 2020. The Chennai-based franchise’s victory also makes champions reigning Mumbai Indians (MI) the first team to advance to the playoffs.
Jadeja may have secured a nice finish in the chase, but the credit for setting it up goes to opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. Gaikwad mixed aggression with caution to initially assemble a 50-point partnership with Shane Watson before following it with a 68-point stand with Ambati Rayudu.
The 23-year-old scored 72 points on 53 deliveries in an inning strewn with six limits and two sixes to keep CSK in the chase.
Gaikwad’s dismissal brought Jadeja to the fold, which ultimately emerged as the perfect successor.
Previously, KKR had recorded a total of 172 points for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs after being sent to bat.
Nitish Rana was the top scorer, racking up 87 runs out of 61 deliveries with 10 limits and four sixes to his name.
