Indian Railways authorities dedicated the new Hansdiha-Godda railway line to Jharkhand and also flagged the Godda-New Delhi Humsafar special train. Railways Minister Piyush Goyal reported on the plans via video conference on Thursday, April 8, with Railways Council Chairman Suneet Sharma. The new railway line will strengthen the transport facilities along the network and be profitable for faster movement of goods. According to the Minister of Railways, the new project has so far attracted an investment of Rs 550 crore.
With the rapid pace of freight transport, the railway line will boost the socio-economic growth of Dumka and Godda region in Jharkhand State. It is likely to generate employment opportunities and Kisan rail services may also be started by rail in the future. This will allow the transport of the products of the farmers of this region to other regions.
