Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Eoin Morgan was fined Rs 24 lakh for maintaining a slow pass rate in the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Mumbai Indians at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. As this was the team’s second offense of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct for Minimum Above Rate Violations, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan was sentenced to a fine of Rs 24 lakh “, we read in an official press release from the IPL.

The other KKR members playing XI were each fined less than Rs 6 lakh or 25% of their individual match fees.

Rahul Tripathi and Venkatesh Iyer played 74 and 53 respectively as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat the Mumbai Indians by seven wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

With the win, KKR climbed to fourth place on the points table while the Mumbai Indians slipped to sixth.

Ahead of the game, KKR had a dismal record against MI, recording just six wins in 28 total games, but Iyer and Tripathi helped the franchise turn things around.


Earlier, Kock’s Quinton 55-point shot helped the Mumbai Indians score 155/6 against KKR in the 20 overs allowed. For KKR, Prasidh Krishna and Lockie Ferguson each took two wickets.

KKR will then face the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday.
