Former IPL chairman and founder Lalit Modi, who recently made headlines for allegedly dating Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen, is currently on 24/7 perpetual oxygen support due to his deteriorating health.
Lalit Modi is undergoing rigorous treatment after testing positive for Covid-19 twice in two weeks and also contracting pneumonia. Since they are both respiratory diseases, the doctors have placed him on perpetual oxygen support.
The 59-year-old took to social media to provide updates on his health, saying he had flown to London from Mexico after three weeks of confinement. Lalit Modi also took to social media to share his health update and a photo of himself from the hospital bed.
Modi wrote on Instagram: “After 3 weeks of confinement with a double Covid in 2 weeks accompanied by flu and deep pneumonia – and after trying to leave several times. Finally landed with a trauma helicopter, accompanied by two doctors and a superstar, a super efficient son who has done so much for me in London.”
The IPL founder further added: “The flight was smooth. Unfortunately still 24/7 external oxygen. Thanks to everyone at @vistajet for going the extra mile. I am extremely grateful to everyone. Love to everyone. Big hug.”
Lalit Modi was in the news for a long time last year when he confirmed his “relationship” with Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen on social media, sparking rumors that the pair are getting married soon.
Modi had taken to Instagram last year and posted a series of photos with Sushmita Sen, calling her his “better looking partner” and looking forward to “new beginnings”. Sen later took to Instagram to make it clear that she is not going to marry Modi, without denying their relationship.
Since both Lalit Modi and Sushmita Sen have not posted any photos together in months and there have been no public mockings, many are speculating that the couple has split.
