JD Vance, Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Ohio, joined former President Donald Trump onstage at a “Save America” rally on Saturday night and called for more border patrol agents instead of IRS agents.
When Trump called Vance to join him onstage, he noted that Vance is backed by “all the bravest and boldest conservatives in the country,” including TBEN News host Tucker Carlson, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), and former Trump adviser Stefan Molenaar. Trump said:
The whole MAGA movement is for JD Vance, and if JD wins his race in November, you’ll hear wails from every newsroom in New York and Washington, and you’ll hear Chuck Schumer cry in anger because JD Vance is going to the Senate for the Republicans.
Vance came on stage and criticized his opponent, Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), for supporting Democrats’ policies:
Are we having a good time, is it great to have the president back in Ohio? Here’s the thing about this crazy lying scammer Tim Ryan. His whole attack on me is that I’m out of state. I am from California, although the reason I left the state when I was 18 years old was to enlist in the United States Marine Corps and serve my country.
“But the president may not even know this. You know, Tim Ryan has not one but two books on yoga and meditation,” Vance said.
“Tim Ryan has called for a ban on gas-powered cars, and Tim Ryan has voted for the Green New Deal,” said Vance. Who’s from California, Tim? It sounds like you are. This is simple. We need to get back to sanity. We’ll stop hiring 87,000 IRS agents. We need to fire those guys and hire some Border Patrol officers.’
