Jen Psaki Says Trump Boosts Democrats Hugely

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Trump is fueling Democrats ahead of the midterm elections.

Psaki told MSNBC’s, Alex Wagner:

Nothing is more of a driving and exciting factor for Democrats than Donald Trump. They love to be against him. Independents don’t want to see a new Trump administration. And the more he participates in the race, the more he puts himself there, the more it’s a reminder of what’s at stake for people.

And having Trump on the ballot is a huge stimulant in many of these races. I will also say, since he asked me about the midterm elections, that while I think many Democrats are feeling better, as they should, there is still a long way to go here.

Trump is a driving force behind Democratic rise. Democrats and anti-Trump Independents along with anti-Trump Republicans are happy to show up to beat him. It’s true that abortion is the driving force behind the increase in Democratic voter registration and turnout, but Republicans have also been damaged by Trump and his legal problems that suck the life out of the Republican midterm campaign.

Donald Trump has also hurt Republicans by meddling in the Republican Senate primaries and nominating unelectable candidates. Trump is a stimulant for Democrats in the midterm elections, and his presence could increase the Democrats’ chances of retaining Congress.
