Jharkhand: Resumption of classes for students aged 6 and over, secondary schools reopened


The Jharkhand government said today that schools in the state will remain closed for the time being for students below grade 6. Classes will resume for 6th grade students and over, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

All colleges will reopen and they will operate as before, said state health minister Banna Gupta.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand reported six new COVID-19 infections and no deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the state’s health department on Monday.

Ranchi added five new cases, followed by East Singhbhum with one case.

As a result, the total number of cases rose to nearly 3.5 lakh (3,489,079), including 117 active cases.

The death toll stood at 5,133 with a death rate of 1.47%.

In addition, total recoveries reached 3,429,829, of which 16 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate is 98.49 percent.
