On the final episode of the “Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru” podcast, Cornette and Brian Last discussed last week’s SmackDown, where Sami Zayn got The Bloodline to break character when he said Jey Uso didn’t feel “Ucey.”
“Oh, I felt Ucey,” Cornette said. “Let me tell you something. I never thought I would say this. But I think Sami Zayn is now my favorite person to watch on television. El Generico certainly wasn’t, but Sami Zayn is incredible. And this whole thing with The Bloodline and the Usos and Ucees.”
Connette continued: “Sami Zayn is brilliant. If someone had written this for him it wouldn’t have been the same. He brings it so well because he picks up the story. He takes the content they give him. He has turned it into his own weasel-like delivery. And he’s such a persuasive, crafty, cunning type insincere. I mean, all the adjectives and nouns and verbs and adverbs you can think of. He’s awesome. And you can tell he’s a weasel , but he’s such an entertaining weasel that he’s going to be the biggest baby face in the business.”
Cornette also praised Roman Reigns, particularly the part of the segment where he pulled Jey back in while Jey tried to turn around so he could hide his face. Cornette said: “And at one point Roman put his arm around him and said, ‘Now see if you can’t find your inner Ucey anymore (laughs). Jey tries to turn away from the camera. His face. And Roman said no, no, come back here Come back here When he does that Roman sounds like The Rock is talking to him He’s got that Not even the same kind of tone in his voice but the same kind of inflection or delivery or whatever I try to say But anyway Roman says if you can’t find your inner Ucey we make Sami Zayn a full fledged Uso and then Sami Uso And the people start singing and damn Jey dies What a segment. You can tell they’ve all been working on this together because it’s not just the writers who give their shit. They’re all in on it. They’ when we work with it, they come up with some good sh*t. And people want to know what’s going to happen And sooner or later Sami Zayn is going to be a huge babyface and possibly ev and in a main event against Roman Reigns in one form or another. But that was one hell of a segment.”
