President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19 again on Saturday morning, according to a letter from presidential physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor.
The results are what is called a “rebound” Covid-19 positivity. It is “seen in a small percentage of patients treated with Paxlovid,” the doctor said.
The president is not experiencing any symptoms, but will be isolating himself in the White House.
Biden is said to be fine and will not resume treatment, the White House said. O’Connor claimed Biden tested negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning. He tested positive on Saturday morning.
“But given his positive antigen test, he will start the strict isolation procedures again,” the doctor noted.
Biden ended his isolation on Wednesday and celebrated his return in comments from the White House’s Rose Garden.
