PWInsider confirmed the Fightful report on Jonathan Gresham asking for his release Saturday night during the ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.
It was clear that Gresham was not happy when he went to the ring for his match with Claudio Castagnoli as he was not wearing his usual costume and he quickly left the ring without Prince Nana. Gresham was reportedly unhappy with the way he was booked.
PWInsider quoted several sources as saying Gresham was not happy with the outcome of the match and had words with Tony Khan. One person said what Gresham did was “ugly and unprofessional”. There was a version of Fightful’s story that said Gresham Khan “cursed” and another story shared by talents says Gresham used his position in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s “PWI 500” as a reason why he should be better should be used.
Gresham has deactivated his personal Twitter account along with the account for his TERMINUS promotion and is said to have asked for his release for his match with Castagnoli. There is no confirmation whether his release has been granted, but it doesn’t look like Tony Khan will welcome him back.
Gresham has not commented publicly, but his wife Jordyne Grace took to Twitter to shoot down recent reports, without being specific about what exactly she finds inaccurate or out of context.
Grace tweeted the following:
I promise you don’t have to believe everything you read online.
95% of “garbage” news is exaggerated, completely made up or taken out of context.
