Kenny Omega Shares AEW Video Game Release Schedule | TBEN

AEW is still working on its first video game and a release date for it is still being determined.

This is something Kenny Omega talked about in an interview with TalkSport. The game will be on consoles such as Xbox and Playstation. In November 2020, AEW revealed a first trailer for its first game.

AEW’s executive vice president noted that the game is in development, but the promotion expects the game to release in the first quarter of 2022.

“I wouldn’t say years [away] plural. I would say in a perfect world, give it about a year. We are working very hard and we are fortunate to have two teams, one in America and one in Japan, working on this almost 24 hours a day. We know that time is running out, we cannot leave this forever and people want a game like yesterday [laughs] so, we want to release something as soon as we feel it’s ready and representative of what our brand should be and what will make fans happy.

Omega went on to note that he didn’t want a bad launch like Street Fighter 5 or Cyberpunk. Instead, they want to present a product that will be fun to play from day one, but that will constantly evolve, just like their roster.

He said that if they add a new event to the map or go to a new arena or sign someone new, they want to add it to the game after its release. The reason for this is to make sure that fans can feel up to date with their roster and the growth of the promotion.
