Star India National Cricket Team opening batsman KL Rahul has provided an update on his health after not being included in the India National Cricket Team roster for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.

On Saturday 30 July, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-man ODI squad from the India National Cricket Team for the three-game ODI series against the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team. The three-match ODI series will be played on August 18, 20 and 22 at the Harare Sports Club.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul has been out since the completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. He sustained a groin injury ahead of the T20I series of five games against the South African national cricket team and he missed the entire series.

Following the announcement of the India National Cricket Team roster for the Zimbabwe tour, star batter KL Rahul, who will miss his 7th series for India this year, took to Twitter to provide an update on his health. He claimed he contracted the Covid-19 virus when he was almost fully fit.

“Hello guys. I wanted to clarify a few things about my health and fitness. My surgery in June was successful and I had started training in hopes of returning to national service for the team tour of the West Indies. Unfortunately, when I almost fully fit again, I tested positive for COVID-19,” KL Rahul wrote in a post on his official Twitter handle.
