LaLiga: Barcelona shortlist three managers to coach club after Koeman sack

Barcelona have selected three managers to coach the club following the sacking of Ronald Koeman.

Recall that Barcelona president Joan Laporta sacked Koeman after Barcelona’s 1-0 La Liga defeat to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night.

“FC Barcelona have relieved Ronald Koeman of his duties as coach of the first team.

“FC Barcelona would like to thank him for his service to the Club and wish him all the best in his professional career,” said the Barcelona press release.

The Catalan club have made a dismal start to the season under Koeman, winning just four of their opening 10 La Liga games.

The Blaugrana are also struggling in the UEFA Champions League group stage as they were beaten by Bayern Munich and Benfica before claiming a 1-0 victory over Dynamo Kyiv last week.

However, according to RAC1, former Barcelona captain Xavi Hernández is one of three candidates vying to replace Koeman.
