Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) claimed Friday that when her party finally agrees on the next Speaker of the House, the GOP “will be much more willing to lead and more willing to govern than ever before.”

Boebert appeared on Sean Hannity’s show prior to casting a “current” vote on the 14th ballot, in which Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) again failed to get enough votes to become Speaker.

The interview began with the TBEN host calling back about a controversial discussion the two had earlier this week, in which Hannity pressed Boebert why she wouldn’t come along to support McCarthy’s candidacy. “We had a passionate debate this week,” Hannity said, before Boebert interrupted by saying it was all okay because traffic to her website was increasing.

When two days had passed, Hannity asked if Boebert’s position on McCarthy had changed.

Boebert dodged the question and instead offered standard language about how this saga ends once: “everyone from the Speaker’s office to my more moderate colleagues, even friends and allies with whom I have exchanged harsh words, like you, we will working together to deliver historic, fundamental changes in DC”

“We’ll see how it goes tonight,” she added vaguely. “I think there are some things we need to hold on to and make sure we can deliver on these promises.”

When Hannity followed up asking if this would all be resolved by Monday, Boebert replied, “I really hope we see something on Monday.”

“And I do believe that after months of negotiations that we’ve seen and a few extra days of even meeting on the House floor,” she insisted, “Republicans will be much more willing to lead and more willing to govern than ever before.”
