LG launches 97-inch OLED TV that uses a wireless box to receive 4K 120Hz images

LG introduces its 97-inch LG Signature OLED M (model M3) TV that comes with Zero Connect technology.

The TV itself features LG’s One Wall Design, so the M3 and integrated bracket sit flush against the wall with no visible gap.

The Zero Connect box sends video and audio signals wirelessly to the M3 TV and comes with multiple ports for connecting common HDMI devices such as set-top boxes, game consoles and soundbars. The box then sends images up to 4K 120Hz to the TV.

It’s the transmission part that makes it different from Samsung’s One Connect box.

The box also comes with voice control. Image source: LG.

According to LG, to ensure the seamless transfer of data from the box to the TV, LG has developed a wireless algorithm that immediately identifies the optimal transmission path. The algorithm also helps minimize transmission errors or glitches, as it can recognize changes in the immediate environment, such as people or pets moving around the room, and change paths accordingly. In addition, for maximum signal strength, the box’s antenna can be easily rotated and/or tilted to align with the TV’s location. From our brief encounter at LG’s booth at CES, it’s impressive:-

@hwztech Samsung’s One Connect box brings both AV and power to their TV via cable. LG’s Zero Connect box transmits AV wirelessly, but then it still doesn’t require a power cable to the TV. #ces #ces2023 #lg #lgelectronics #lgces2023 #signatureoledm #oledtv #wirelesstv #hwzsg #zachdoesces #fyp ♬ original sound – HardwareZone

To increase usability, the Zero Connect box features voice recognition, meaning users can turn on and manage the M3 and connected devices with simple, spoken commands.
