Lightfoot Testifies for More Funding to Remove Chicago’s Lead Water Pipes


CHICAGO (TBEN) — Mayor Lori Lightfoot tries to get more money for Chicago to remove the lead water pipes.

She will testify on Thursday along with other mayors of the Great Lakes at a federal hearing on the Infrastructure Act.

The hearing on the removal of lead lines and water equality in Great Lake cities is held in Milwaukee.

The panel is made up of federal and state officials who decide how the money from the Infrastructure Act will be distributed.
