Ahead of tonight’s WWE SummerSlam, BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani caught up with SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan
Morgan talked about her family life growing up as a kid, if she’s still close to them, and knowing she wanted to be a WWE performer at a young age
“Not all of them. Some I haven’t spoken to in years, but most of my family now lives in Florida. I’m very close to three. I have a good relationship with my mother. But yes, I take care of I think I grew up and was in my environment i understood very quickly like this is not what i want in my life it was just very violent and chaotic not a favorable environment to grow so i kind of i knew something like “I’m going to save my family. That’s kind of how I’ve based my whole life, like, what can I do to get us out of this situation?”
“So when I first saw WWE, I fell in love, and I thought, this is it. I’m not a hero, but I always knew I was going to be. That was my goal. It was like I’m going to save my family. I’m going to break this cycle of drugs, abuse, and cops in my home almost every night. I was like, this isn’t going to be my life, and I’m going to change theirs too.”
