Maja Ma star Madhuri Dixit says ’90s heroines are getting ‘better’ roles than their male co-stars


Madhuri Dixit is candid about how the digital platform has given a new lease of life to actresses from the 90s. The beta star will soon be featured in Prime Video’s upcoming movie Maja Ma. Dixit, along with other film team members, launched the film’s trailer on Thursday. During the press conference, Dixit talked about the revolution in storytelling with the rise of OTT.

When the actress was asked to highlight why the male co-stars of the era are still clinging to the ‘lover boy’ image, the actress said: “Women grow up more than men (laughs). You have to get to your higher level. intelligence and think about it I can’t blame the heroes either because of the kind of commercial movies that are made they have to make songs, dance and stuff so they’re always looking for something that keeps them young which isn’t bad is.”

According to The Bharat Express News quote, Madhuri stated that she has played a mother before. But then she thinks they didn’t know what to do with women in this age group. “Because of OTT and the kind of stories being told, there are no commercial restrictions on making the film a hit,” the actress added. Madhuri added that thanks to OTT, the change is even being reflected in movie theaters. “Commercial movies are also changing. Look at movies like Badhaai Ho, which has a woman in the lead. She wasn’t like a 16-year-old girl running through trees. Stories mature, audiences mature and storytelling matures “People consume better content. So many stories about women are made. That’s why there are so many good roles for female actors.”

Finally, Dixit added that as a woman she loves what she or Juhi Chawla or Raveena Tandon does. “We are moving forward in life and also on the screen we are true to ourselves,” the actress concluded. Madhuri was last featured in The Fame Game.
