He has been inundated with visitors to his home in Tomich, near Inverness after his house was placed on a French tourist board’s recommendations for northern Scotland.
He doesn’t have a cell phone or internet and no longer drives because of his age, but he likes to get out and meet people.
Stuart said: “I haven’t seen Lord of the Rings. It’s just a coincidence that my front door has almost the same shape and the same type of wood, oak.
“I knew nothing about them and they knew nothing about me.
“Before me, cows, calves and chickens lived here, and a donkey. It was a shoemaker’s cottage and a field.
“I was always a glutton for scenic beauty, fine houses and thatched cottages in England.”
