PHILADELPHIA (TBEN) – Police say a man died early Thursday morning in a fire that was deliberately set in the Eastwick neighborhood of Philadelphia. The incident took place around 8:15 a.m. in block 3100 of South 81st Street
The man was found unconscious in a field after engine 69 extinguished a forest fire. Doctors pronounced him dead on the spot. According to the police, the fire service at the scene was considered arson.
The identity of the man is unknown at this time.
