Man Utd in talks to offer new contracts to four first-team stars

Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer four first-team stars new contracts, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to build a squad he hopes can lead the club to Premier League glory.

The red devils has had an impressive summer of transfer activity, attracting world-class performers Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane and also adding exciting England winger Jadon Sancho. However, their goal now seems to be to nail some of their top stars to new, lucrative businesses.

According to a reliable journalist, Fabrice Romano, the Red Devils are ready to make new deals with four players.

Jesse Lingard, Bruno Fernandes, Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba are the nominated quartet, only Lingard not being a regular holder.

Lingard is currently one year on his contract and has been heavily linked with a return to West Ham. The 28-year-old excelled on loan at London Stadium last season.

Pogba is another player in a similar contractual situation.

The star of France was linked to the giants of La Liga Barcelona and Real Madrid. PSG are also said to be enthusiastic, but the former club Juventus seem to have cooled his interest.

Fernandes and Shaw both have plenty of time on their existing deals. The Portuguese playmaker is tied until 2026, while England left-back Shaw’s current deal expires in 2024.

United appear to be following the tactics of rivals Liverpool. The Anfield outfit has linked a number of big names over the past two months.

Solskjaer’s men have made an impressive start to the season and are currently third in the Premier League table, tied on points with Chelsea and Liverpool.
