Matrics in Maragon Mooikloof dedicates 100% success rate to principal Chris Zaayman who died of Covid-19

Pretoria – Maragon Mooikloof matriculants dedicated the 100% pass rate for the Independent Review Boards (IEB) Senior National Certificate 2020 in honor of their principal Chris Zaayman, 56, who died of complications from Covid- 19.

Sousa manager Cheyenne said it was a bittersweet moment that they had to kick off the journey of the rest of their lives without the physical presence of their manager who had prepared the launch pad for them.

Zaayman died in hospital on January 2 of complications from Covid-19, upon returning from vacation in KwaZulu-Natal with his family.

De Sousa said they never thought they would have to say goodbye to him in this way, but they knew he would have been proud of their achievement.

She said it was because he believed in their potential as individuals, their strengths, weaknesses, goals, challenges and even dreams.

“He knew our potential even more than we knew ourselves. As our journey begins, we know that as the Class of 2020, we are the legacy he last worked for.

“No one can deny that he was more than just a manager. Maragon was his family and he ran this school as a father and a shepherd who guides his sheep, he defined leadership.

De Sousa said they were moved by his efforts to fight for and uplift them, even going so far as to pray for them as he was a fervent believer in God.

“He was like a friend and he always left the feeling that he believed in you. We pay tribute to him for leading the front line at our school and ensuring that we finish our race on time, ”added Lizwi Sibuyi.

Maragon Mooikloof achieved a 100% pass rate with 94% bachelor’s degrees and 6% diplomas.
