Mi Note 10, Mi Note 10 Pro, Mi 10T Lite and Redmi Note 8 have reportedly started receiving MIUI 12 based on Android 11 in some regions. The Mi Note 10 and the Mi Note 10 Pro were launched by Xiaomi in November 2019 with Android 9 Pie while the Mi 10T Lite was launched in September 2020, with Android 10. The Redmi Note 8 was launched even earlier, in August 2018 with Android 9 Pie. It looks like the company is updating its newer and older smartphone models. At the moment, there is no information on if and when the Android 11 update for these phones will arrive in India.
According to a report from XDA developers, the Mi Note 10, Mi 10T Lite and Redmi Note 8 have started to receive MIUI 12 based on Android 11. A separate report from the Adimorah blog said that the Mi Note 10 Pro is also getting Android 11. update based on MIUI 12. The update is available for the global variant of Mi 10T Lite which was released in September 2020 with Android 10. On the other hand, Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro receive the update day in Europe and were launched in November 2019 with Android. 9 Pie. This means that the Mi Note 10 series phones have their second Android update and maybe it will be the last.
The Redmi Note 8 is getting the update in China and it also launched with Android 9 Pie. While the Mi Note 10 series and Mi 10T Lite are not available in India, the Redmi Note 8 is and the MIUI 12 update based on Android 11 is expected to hit the Indian market in the near future. The Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro received MIUI 12 based on Android 10 in November 2020 and August 2020 respectively.
