Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola insisted he was only giving his opinion when he suggested that the Manchester United midfielder’s spell may end.
Raiola caused a sensation in December, on the eve of United’s Champions League draw against RB Leipzig, when he told Italian media that Pogba Old Trafford’s career was “over.”
But despite Raiola’s remarks, Pogba subsequently found some of his best form in a United shirt. That was until he suffered an injury earlier this month.
Now in an interview with TBEN Sport, Raiola has distanced himself from his own comments. By making bone, he also vowed not to be so outspoken in the future.
He said, “I just expressed an opinion, I didn’t want to cause a problem.
“I don’t think that unsettled anyone, because (United) had a fantastic run and they were even first, for a while, in the league.
“Do you think great players like Paul Pogba or (United boss Ole Gunnar) Solskjaer, who has won everything in his life, are unsettled by what Mino Raiola is saying?
“Come on please. But I don’t talk about it anymore. It makes life a little boring, but it is.
“Every time I give my opinion everyone in England goes berserk, and I’m the worst agent, or the best agent.” The clubs are so stressed by the public and the journalists that I have learned not to talk about it much.
