Reinsurance broker Acrisure Re increases its Corporate Advisory and Solutions division with 4 appointments
Acrisure Re, the reinsurance division of fintech leader and the world’s top 10 insurance brokers Acrisure, has announced appointments to its business advisory and solutions division, reporting to Managing Director Ben Canagaretna.
Nick Godfrey – Head of Capital Markets. Godfrey has 25 years of industry experience working primarily with capital markets, insurance markets and other third party capital vehicles. He has held various positions as risk owner, broker and board of directors in global markets in several business categories. He co-founded the proprietary reinsurance investment arm of BTG, which acquired Ariel Re. Most recently, he was a senior advisor at Barbican and Arch Re. In his new role, Godfrey will be responsible for equity capital raising activities. insurance-related; funds at Lloyd’s and supporting mergers and acquisitions and other balance sheet engineering activities.
Jonathan Zisaruk – responsible for inheritance. Zisaruk is a chartered accountant and senior insurance mergers and acquisitions professional with over 18 years of experience managing the acquisition of legacy reinsurance portfolios. He joins Acrisure Re after having worked at Enstar for over 15 years, most recently as Head of Mergers and Acquisitions and Executive Vice President. He has been involved in over 40 successful transactions involving over $ 10 billion in reserves, including deals in the US, UK, Lloyd’s, Bermuda, Europe and Australia. In his new role, Zisaruk will be responsible for leading all types of legacy transactions, from structured hedges for adverse development to more traditional loss portfolio transfers, understanding how to get the best solutions for clients.
Lauren Johnson – Vice President of Consulting and Business Solutions. Johnson has over 10 years of industry experience and joined Acrisure Re after working at Securis Investment Partners, where she held the positions of Lloyd’s and Specialist Analysis Manager and Reserving Actuary. Previously, she was Director of the Strategic Risk Advisory Team at Willis Limited. In his new role, Johnson will lead the execution process across the four pillars of ARCAS, namely strategic advice, capital raising, legacy solutions and mergers and acquisitions.
Nick Triggs – Non-Executive Board Member and Senior Advisor, Consulting and Business Solutions. Triggs has extensive experience providing advice to corporate boards and management teams across the financial services spectrum. He has worked in the industry for over 30 years and has completed approximately 140 mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financing transactions. He has a broad and in-depth understanding of the different business models with a particular focus on the P&C insurance industry over the past few years.
Amwins Global Risks hires Hensman from Beazley, Davies from Lloyd’s
Amwins Global Risks announced the appointment of Colm Hensman as chief operating officer and Lindsey Davies as director of operations. As an international arm of a global specialist insurance broker, Amwins Global Risks is one of the largest independent wholesale brokers in London.
Hensman joins Amwins Global Risks after working at Beazley where he most recently served as Head of Business Management. He brings over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, spending 16 years with the Beazley Group, where he held leadership roles in actuarial, business development and digital distribution. . In his new role, Hensman will help accelerate new and existing strategic initiatives at Amwins Global Risks as the business continues to grow.
Davies is from Lloyd’s of London where she worked as a senior delegated authority. Davies also brings over 20 years of insurance experience, having previously worked at Aon and QBE in leadership roles. She will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise as Amwins Global Risks continues to develop its London platform.
SiriusPoint Appoints Favre Senior U / W for Credit, Bond & Political Risk Team
SiriusPoint Ltd., the specialist insurer and reinsurer based in Bermuda, announced that Pierre Favre joined the company as a senior underwriter. Based in Zurich, Favre will report to Bernard hoge, Vice-President, Manager Credit, Bond & Political Risk Reinsurance, based in Belgium. Favre will focus on developing strong relationships with brokers and clients to grow the SiriusPoint portfolio.
Favre has 25 years of experience as a market leader in trade credit and surety reinsurance, where he was responsible for underwriting major trade credit and surety accounts in multiple regions. He started his career at Swiss Re in 1996 before joining Aspen Re in 2008 where he was instrumental in building a loan and surety portfolio, as a senior underwriter and responsible for underwriting operations. From 2015 to 2017, he was also Chairman of the Credit Insurance Committee of ICISA, the International Association of Credit and Surety.
