Multimillionaire hotelier Sir Richard Sutton stabbed to death in his estate


A multimillionaire baronet has been found stabbed to death on his country estate in Dorset, police said.

Sir Richard Sutton, 83, who owned hotels on Park Lane including the Athenaeum and Sheraton Grand, was attacked Wednesday night at his home in Higher Langham, near Gillingham.

A woman in her 60s, believed to be her partner Anne Schreiber, 65, was injured by gunshot in the incident and was airlifted to Bristol’s Southmead Hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Sir Richard, the 9th Baronet Sutton of Norwood Park, was pronounced dead shortly after the attack on his home, which he bought in 2014 for £ 1.4million.
