The team also announced their driver lineup for the series which includes F2 driver Jehan Daruvala and F3 pilot Kush Maini. Former F2 and GT1 driver Armaan Ebrahim is the Team Principal of the Mumbai Falcons, while Rayomand Banajee, eight-time national kart champion, is in charge of strategy and communications. Speaking of his participation in the Asian F3 Championship, Navjeet Gadhoke, owner of the Mumbai Falcons, “Our goal is to take Indian Motorsport to new heights. Asian F3 is just the beginning. With Jehan and Kush, we have the best driver training out there. We are confident to go all the way and win the championship.
Moid Tungekar, CEO – Mumbai Falcons, added: “We are working quietly on this topic and we are ready to largely enter the international arena.”
The new series is not only a great platform for Indian pilots but will also help to hone their skills. Jehan Daruvala currently competes in Formula 2 with Carlin Motorsport. The Red Bull Junior driver is close enough to living the F1 dream and has managed to snag a few podiums and even a victory in his first F2 season in 2020, becoming the only Indian to do so in his current iteration.
Meanwhile, Kush Maini is one of the youngest talents that makes us proud globally and is the youngest Indian to ever win an Asian kart race. The multiple karting champion took part in the BRDC FIA Formula 3 Championship last year and has managed to claim three victories to his name. He was also one of the hottest names in the inaugural X1 Racing League season and won the Indian international driver’s title with Mumbai Falcons.

The Asian F3 Championship is one of the most competitive motorsport events on the continent and features nine teams with a number of F2 and F3 drivers in attendance. Interestingly, it was Team MSport that was the first Indian team to enter the championship in 2020 but had only one Indian rider on the grid. The Mumbai Falcons will then become the first fully Indian to participate in the series and will use an F3 homologated Tatuus chassis with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine from Alfa Romeo.
The 2021 Asian F3 Championship will feature five rounds with 15 races that will alternate between the Dubai Airfield and Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit. The season will last almost a month and is scheduled to end on February 20, 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
