Netflix announces a Stranger Things VR game where you play as Vecna. can play

Here’s a fun bit of Sunday afternoon news. Netflix, which has doubled the number of games in the past year, announced: Strange Things VR. A studio called Tender Claws is developing the game, which Netflix describes as a psychological horror/action title.

The best part is that you can play as Vecna, the villain of the fourth season of Stranger things. “Become an explorer of unknown realities as you mold the beehive ghost and tame the void,” Netflix wrote in the announcement video description. “Bring in ghosts and conjure nightmares in your quest to exact revenge on Eleven and Hawkins.”

That sounds pretty cool. I love it when games turn things around and give you the chance to play as the bad guy. I haven’t dabbled in VR much, but this is definitely one I’ll be checking out. I also like the art style that we glimpse in the announcement.

We don’t have to wait that long for the game to come out either. Netflix says it’s coming to major VR platforms in the winter of 2023. Presumably that means Steam VR, Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2.

Netflix has had a few other game-related Weird stuff hands down lately. Another one was recently released Weird stuff mobile game for subscribers at no extra cost — this time it’s a puzzle game. Meanwhile, the company setting up a Weird stuff experience in Robloxwhere fans could watch the first episode of the series together today.
