The all-new Mercedes-Benz A-Class limousine with Indian specifications has finally been revealed. It’s been a long time since the new A-Class arrived and thanks to the COVID-19 outbreak, we’ve waited a whole year because the car was due to arrive in 2020 itself. We have all the technical details of the new A-Class and this time around it is only offered in the sedan body or its “ Limo ” avatar. Mercedes-Benz India will launch the Class A limousine next month in both gasoline and diesel versions and here are the details.

The Mercedes-Benz A 200 Petrol Limousine is powered by a 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that develops 161 hp and 250 Nm of maximum torque at 1620-4000 rpm. The gasoline-powered powertrain is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) and the triple-digit speed of the A 200 clocks in 8.3 seconds. It also offers a declared fuel economy of 17.50 kmpl. The Mercedes-Benz A 220d Limousine diesel receives under its hood a 2.0-liter four-cylinder oil burner which is tuned to produce 148 hp and 320 Nm of maximum torque at 1400 – 3200 rpm. This engine is mated to an eight-speed DCT automatic transmission and is a fraction of a second faster at triple-digit speeds of 8.2 seconds, delivering a reported fuel economy of 21.35 kmpl, which is impressive for its category.

The A-Class sedan will be available in three variants – A 200, A 220d and the top-of-the-range A 35 AMG range.

Now the two iterations are the same except for the boot space. While this is an entry-level model in the luxury car space, it’s long enough to do justice with that ‘Limo’ label. Then it is longer than the Class A hatch sold in world markets, but has an identical wheelbase. The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan measures 4,549mm in length, 1,796mm in width and 1,446mm in height, while offering a wheelbase of 2,729mm. The petrol A 200 offers a boot volume of 405 liters while the A 220d offers 395 liters of space for your luggage.
