The NFL kicked off the 2022 season with Super Bowl favorite Buffalo Bills dominated the second half to defeat reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams 31-10. Bills’ win was the most lopsided kick-off game in nine years.
The betting action was mostly on the bills, rolling up 413 yards offense at 7.1 yards per game to 243 yards and 3.7 yards per game for the Rams. The Bills converted 9-of-10 trailing third and Bills QB Josh Allen (+450) upped his favorite MVP chances after completing 26-of-31 passes for 297 yards and 2 TDs plus a hasty touchdown while the Bills led with 56 hasty yards.
The Bills are also the favorites of Super Bowl LVII and are only building a bigger storm of betting after their convincing win over the defending champions. Buffalo has won just over 25% of the total amount of the Super Bowl at FanDuel Sportsbook with the next bet for the most money going to the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers, both at 7% of the total amount.

There are a record 10 road favorites in Week 1, with the favorites taking the most bets at the leading US online sportsbooks. The Week 1 lines have been out for months, and a look at the current Week 1 odds shows some key line moves as more bets roll in for Sunday’s kickoff.
The Bills gave the most points spread bettors as a popular game, and now the Chiefs (-6), Ravens (-7), Saints (-5.5) and Broncos (-6.5) lead the top picks in the betting market as Weekly Favorites 1 with both the most bets and the money wagered at the spread. The data from the top online sportsbooks FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars, BetMGM and SuperBook Sports in Las Vegas supports significant spreads of more than 80% of the money on those favorites.
Denver will play in Seattle Monday night in what will be one of the most bets of the week in the return of new Broncos QB Russell Wilson to Seattle.

Those bets and strategies will be key in the five division games that are also expected to attract additional interest. Two of those teams are underdogs at home in the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings.

- Pittsburgh at Cincinnati (-6.5)
- New Orleans at Atlanta (+5.5)
- New England at Miami (-3.5)
- Las Vegas at LA Chargers (-3.5)
- Green Bay in Minnesota (+1.5)
The Cincinnati Bengals are now at -7 at more sportsbooks and the Miami Dolphins have gone from -2.5 to -3.5 this week. The Minnesota Vikings are now taking more money and a popular teaser bet as an underdog. Green Bay has gone from a -2.5 favorite to -1.5, and even some favorites are starting to show up at select sportsbooks.
The two division games at the end of the afternoon are attracting a lot of interest and good mutual action, but more recent support for the underdogs and especially the Raiders in Las Vegas.
“There’s no doubt that we’ll be Chargers fans and underfans on Sunday,” said Chuck Esposito, director of sportsbooks at Red Rock Resort Las Vegas. “It’s been a steady stream of silver and black money, and the public is betting the game is over on a pretty good clip.”
