Thousands of nurses are on strike in a dispute over pay as the head of the nurses’ union said patients are not being given a safe workforce in the NHS “every day of the week”.
Employees at more than 55 NHS trusts in England are taking part in union action on Wednesday and Thursday following two days of action in December.
The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has announced two more larger strikes will take place next month, while the GMB union also confirmed further strikes by paramedics on Wednesday afternoon.
